Overview

Golden Fin Coating Coil Manufacturer — Anti-Corrosion HVAC Coils

Standard copper tube aluminum fin coils are cost-effective and efficient — but in coastal, marine, Middle East, and chemically aggressive environments, uncoated aluminum fins corrode rapidly, reducing heat transfer efficiency and leading to premature coil failure within 2–5 years.

RefriCore manufactures anti-corrosion HVAC coils with a range of protective coatings specifically designed to extend coil service life in aggressive environments. Our most popular solution is the golden fin epoxy coating — a gold-coloured epoxy resin applied to the aluminum fin surface that provides a robust barrier against salt air, moisture, and chemical attack.

We also manufacture hydrophilic blue fin coils for standard HVAC applications where moisture drainage performance is important, and copper tube / copper fin coils for the most severe coastal and marine environments where maximum corrosion resistance is required regardless of cost.

All anti-corrosion coils are available in evaporator, condenser, AHU, and FCU configurations — custom-manufactured to your exact specifications from our Hangzhou, China factory with over 20 years of export experience serving the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and global coastal markets.

Most Popular

Golden Fin Epoxy Coating

A gold-coloured epoxy resin applied as a spray coating to aluminum fin surfaces after coil assembly — commonly referred to as golden fin coating spray or gold fin coating. The most widely used anti-corrosion solution for HVAC coils in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and coastal markets worldwide. The coating penetrates between fin surfaces to form a continuous protective barrier against salt air, humidity, and airborne chemicals.

  • Gold epoxy resin spray coating on aluminum fins
  • Excellent salt spray resistance (ASTM B117)
  • Middle East & coastal standard specification
  • Cost-effective vs Cu/Cu construction
  • Available on evaporator & condenser coils
  • Typical service life 10–15 years in coastal areas

Standard Grade

Hydrophilic Blue Fin Coating

A hydrophilic coating applied to aluminum fins that improves moisture drainage and reduces air-side pressure drop by preventing water bridging between fins. Provides moderate corrosion protection for non-extreme environments.

  • Blue hydrophilic coating on fins
  • Improved moisture drainage
  • Reduced wet coil pressure drop
  • Moderate corrosion protection
  • Standard for most commercial HVAC
  • Better efficiency in humid climates

Maximum Protection

Copper Tube + Copper Fin

The ultimate corrosion-resistant coil construction. Both tubes and fins are copper, eliminating the galvanic corrosion that occurs between copper tubes and aluminum fins. Specified for the most severe marine and coastal environments.

  • All-copper tube and fin construction
  • Maximum corrosion resistance
  • Marine & offshore specification
  • Direct salt spray exposure
  • 20+ year service life in harsh conditions
  • Higher cost vs coated Al fin

Where Anti-Corrosion Coils Are Essential

🌊

Coastal Areas

Salt-laden sea air rapidly corrodes standard aluminum fins within 2–3 years. Golden fin coating extends coil life to 10+ years in coastal locations within 20km of the sea.

Marine & Offshore

Ships, oil platforms, and marine facilities require copper fin construction for direct salt spray exposure. Standard or epoxy-coated coils are unsuitable for true marine environments.

☀️

Middle East

Combination of high ambient temperature, salt air (coastal), and airborne dust makes golden fin the standard specification for HVAC coils throughout the Gulf region.

🌫️

Industrial & Chemical

Chemical plants, refineries, and industrial facilities with airborne pollutants, acidic fumes, or corrosive gases require specialist anti-corrosion coatings or copper fin construction.

Key Markets

Global Anti-Corrosion Coil Supply

Middle East

Gulf Region

Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain. High-ambient golden fin coils are the standard specification for all HVAC installations throughout the Gulf. We supply to contractors, distributors, and equipment manufacturers across the region.

Recommended: Golden Fin Epoxy + Wide Fin Pitch
Southeast Asia

Tropical Coastal Markets

Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines. High humidity combined with coastal salt air makes anti-corrosion coatings essential for HVAC equipment installed near coastlines throughout Southeast Asia.

Recommended: Golden Fin or Hydrophilic Blue Fin
Americas & Europe

Coastal Installations

Coastal locations in North America, South America, and Europe — Florida, Caribbean, Brazil, Mediterranean — all benefit from anti-corrosion HVAC coils where proximity to salt water accelerates standard coil corrosion.

Recommended: Golden Fin or Cu/Cu based on distance from sea

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a golden fin coil and how does it work?

A golden fin coil is a standard copper tube / aluminum fin heat exchanger coil where the aluminum fins have been coated with a gold-coloured epoxy resin after assembly. The epoxy coating creates a protective barrier on the fin surface that resists corrosion from salt air, moisture, and mild chemical exposure. The coating is typically applied by dipping or spraying the assembled coil, then curing at elevated temperature to create a durable, adherent film.

How long do golden fin coils last compared to standard coils?

In coastal environments within 5km of the sea, standard uncoated aluminum fin coils typically corrode and fail within 2–5 years. Golden fin epoxy-coated coils in the same environment typically last 10–15 years. In the Middle East inland environment, standard coils may last 5–8 years, while golden fin coils can last 15+ years. Actual service life depends on the specific environment, installation, and maintenance practices.

What is the difference between golden fin and blue fin (hydrophilic) coils?

Golden fin coils use a thick gold epoxy coating primarily designed for corrosion protection. Blue fin (hydrophilic) coils use a thinner hydrophilic coating designed primarily to improve water drainage from the fin surface during cooling operation — reducing air-side pressure drop and improving efficiency in humid conditions. Hydrophilic coatings provide moderate corrosion protection but are not suitable for genuinely aggressive coastal or marine environments. Golden fin coatings provide much stronger corrosion protection but are not specifically optimized for hydrophilic performance.

Should I specify golden fin or copper fin for a Middle East coastal project?

For most Middle East coastal projects, golden fin epoxy coating on copper tube / aluminum fin construction is the standard and cost-effective specification. Copper tube / copper fin construction is recommended for installations directly exposed to salt spray (e.g., outdoor units within 1–2km of the sea in high-wind coastal locations) or where a project specification explicitly requires Cu/Cu. Our engineering team can advise based on your specific location and installation conditions.

Can you supply anti-corrosion AHU and FCU coils as well as split AC coils?

Yes. We supply anti-corrosion coatings on all coil types — evaporator coils, condenser coils, AHU chilled water coils, FCU coils, and custom industrial coils. Any coil we manufacture can be supplied with golden fin, hydrophilic, or copper fin construction.
