Roll bond evaporators are made from two sheets of aluminium bonded together, with refrigerant channels formed by inflating a printed pattern between the layers. The result is a seamless, lightweight heat exchanger with excellent thermal conductivity and no brazed joints to fail.

Two aluminium sheets are printed with a stop-weld compound in the shape of the refrigerant channel pattern. They are then roll-bonded together under high pressure, fusing everywhere except where the pattern was printed.
Compressed air or nitrogen is then injected to inflate the channel network — forming a fully sealed, leak-free refrigerant path with no additional fittings or joints required.
The finished plate can be bent or shaped to fit inside refrigerator compartments, freezer drawers, or display cabinet liners — making it the industry standard for compact refrigeration applications.
